The 1862 Army Police .36-caliber revolver was originally designed for police use and was a favorite sidearm and backup gun of many officers during the Civil War. It is a lightweight pistol with a fairly short barrel (5″), which added to its popularity.
Pietta’s reproduction features a rugged, case-hardened steel frame, hammer and loading lever, a brass trigger guard and s emi-fluted cylinder, just like the original. This revolver uses a #10 percussion cap and has a 1-in-36″ rate of twist.
