The Ruger 22/45 Lite pistol is a .22 LR-caliber semiauto pistol built on a polymer grip frame with an aircraft-grade aluminum upper receiver. Three receiver models are now available, including:

  1. the original, which features a gold anodize finish and serrated cuts to lower weight;
  2. a receiver with a cobalt anodize finish and a ventilated barrel shroud;
  3. a fluted receiver with a black anodize finish.

All three are drilled and tapped for Weaver-style scope base adapters (included).

Other 22/45 Lite features include:

  • A 4.4″ stainless steel barrel sleeve held in place by a tension nut to ensure accuracy, and a factory 1/2-28 thread to accept popular muzzle accessories;
  • replaceable Hogue black rubber grip panels;
  • an adjustable rear sight;
  • a fixed front sight;
  • a contoured ejection port;
  • easy-to-grasp tapered bolt ears;
  • two magazines;
  • a serrated front strap and a checkered back strap for a comfortable, non-slip hold;
  • an external locking device; and
  • a hard plastic case.

The manual safety positively locks the sear when applied. The pistol also features an unobtrusive internal lock that locks the safety in the safe position and allows you to safely secure the firearm when not in use. The magazine disconnect prevents discharge when the magazine has been removed, and the patented loaded chamber indicator provide visual and tactile indication the chamber is loaded.

Note: Ruger says its 22/45 line of pistols allow for low-cost practice and provides shooters with the familiar and preferred grip shape and feel of the 1911-style .45 ACP caliber pistol. In addition to the identical grip angles, the 22/45 features the same fire control locations (manual safeties, magazine releases and bolt hold-opens) as the 1911.
