Manufacturer’s Description
The Smith & Wesson (S&W) Model 66 Combat Magnum revolver is built on a stainless steel frame and chambered in .357 Magnum (and .38 Special and .38 Special +P, of course). This marks the first time in roughly nine years S&W has produced this particular K-frame gun.
I carried the S&W Model 66 for several years as a law enforcement officer. I was always amazed with its accuracy and ease of handling. It is the best revolver I ever used and I have shot many and carried others, but none compare to the Model 66 S&W. I sold it to acquire an S&W Model 25-5 .45 cal. long colt and that was such a mistake. it was a good gun and powerful but my hand was too small to shoot it accurately. I just recently bought a new 2014 S&W Model 66 and it shoots and handles just as I remembered. What a great gun!!
My first revolver was the S&W Model 66, purchased in 2014. I wanted a 357 Magnum revolver that was classic and with a service history. So the Model 66 fit the bill. However, I’d no idea how accurate this revolver is and what a pleasure it is to shoot. I really got more than I bargained for. The DA trigger pull is hefty, but in SA mode the trigger breaks crisp and quick with almost no creep and light to the touch.
